Here’s my letter to our Idaho reps regarding efforts to defund #PlannedParenthood. Please feel free to copy and paste this letter and send to each member of Congress. Each of the legislator’s portraits links to their contact information.
Dear Sir,
An inordinate amount of lies have been spread about Planned Parenthood over the years, but lately it seems that the facts are being ignored with a level of willful ignorance that borders on fanaticism usually reserved for religious extremists. The truth is, Planned Parenthood is the nation’s largest provider of low-cost, women’s healthcare. It is not a reckless wholesaler of fetal tissue, nor is it performing abortions with federal funding.
Here’s something to consider: Even if someone at Planned Parenthood had illegally sold fetal tissue (which the facts have already shown did not happen), shouldn’t congress first conduct an investigation before stripping this vital healthcare provider of its ability to help women throughout the US? If improprieties within the Department of Defense came to light, would Congress not afford them the opportunity to answer questions before defunding them? We both know the answer to that question.

And, by the way, it’s worth mentioning that you cannot simultaneously oppose abortion and support capital punishment, or the proliferation of armed conflict.
